The Rubber Straight Ends HDR 27x4x260 (part 294142) is a genuine Holdfast replacement rubber component. The part name carries the measurements you need to match: a 27mm wide by 4mm thick section, 260mm long, from the HDR series.
This section is 27mm wide. The visually similar HDR part is 24.5mm wide, and 2.5mm is not a difference you will reliably judge by eye once a section is fitted and weathered. Put a vernier or a steel rule across the piece you are removing before you order. A section that is too narrow will not seat properly and will creep under vibration; one that is too wide will not sit down into place at all.
Replace rubber once it has gone hard, chalky or cracked, or once it has taken a permanent set and no longer springs back when you press it. Perished rubber stops cushioning, which pushes the load and the vibration straight into the metal underneath. Compare against the narrower 24.5 x 4 x 260mm section (294150) or the longer 24.5 x 4 x 600mm section (294160) if this is not your size.
