The Holdfast Lasso (part 221460) is a 2m security cable for securing gear in transit and at rest. It can be used on bicycles, motorbikes and anything else you are wishing to keep safe. Please note: lock not included.
Two metres is enough to pass through more than one frame and back to a fixed point, which is the way a cable of this type actually gets used. On a loaded carrier that usually means threading through each frame in turn and looping back onto the rack itself, so that no single bike can be lifted off on its own.
A cable is a deterrent and a convenience, not a substitute for supervision. It is at its most useful for the short stops that make up most of a trip, the coffee stop, the fuel stop, the overnight at a guesthouse, where bikes are out of sight for a while but the vehicle is not being left indefinitely. For long unattended periods, bring the bikes inside.
Because the lock is not included you can choose the padlock to suit, and match it to the locks already on your rack if you would rather carry one key.
