Maximise your next underwater adventure with the Holdfast Weight Belt. Crafted from heavy-duty 50mm stainless steel, this 1.5-metre belt is incredibly durable and has sufficient room for whatever weight you need to add for your next dive.
Designed for open water diving when adding weight to your body is required to offset the buoyancy of your wetsuit.
The amount of weight you carry depends on your wetsuit thickness, body composition and whether you are diving fresh or salt water. A thicker wetsuit displaces more water and needs more lead to sink. The 1.5m length gives you room to distribute weights evenly around the waist rather than bunching them at the buckle, which keeps you trimmer and more comfortable through a long dive. Always do a buoyancy check in shallow water before descending.
Rinse the belt in fresh water after every salt water dive and hang it to dry out of direct sunlight. Stainless steel resists corrosion but salt crystals left in the buckle mechanism will wear it over time. Store it flat or coiled loosely rather than folded tightly.
